Ten years can change a person ten-folds, yet comparing the early days of Plaantik’s inception till the moment of writing this, football has remained the one constant in all our lives. Not everyone who loves the game can become a pro, but that love will always find an outlet. Plaantik has been our outlet for the last ten years, bringing football fans together across multiple social platforms, encouraging active participation and building a community.

Somewhere around 2011 two teenagers and two 20-somethings, who never met in real-life, came together to create a web presence for Bangladeshi football fans. The initial year garnered little acknowledgement with a lot of trial-and-error projects. Our breakthrough came with a little shout out from ESPN Star Sports and our work during the European Championship in 2012. The Plaantik Podcast followed suit when the domestic league started that year, which is currently in the works for a much needed revival. Our coverage of the SAFF Championship in 2013 and our campaigns during the FIFA World Cup in 2014 cemented Plaantik’s position as the leading name in football media.

We also take pride in creating some of the best original work that not only the country has seen, but football has seen too in general.

Over the years we have covered football in a way that has been unparalleled by any other online entity from Bangladesh. From covering the Bangladesh National Men’s Football Team in Nepal and Australia to following matchday experiences across Europe. As our operations grew, so did our team. Some of the most talented young minds have been running the show for Plaantik spread across our Social Media, Video and Writing teams. Our biggest strength is in our diverse representation across 4 continents and today we stand at 29 contributors across 14 different cities.

And here comes the cliche train because none of these would have been possible with you. Literally.

But the undoubted crowning glory of our success so far lies in giving the football fans the opportunity to express their immediate opinions and reactions.

Over the years we have seen discussions in the comments bustling with knowledge, wit and humor. It’s about time we provide a platform for the Plaantik Takers to express their takes expansively.

And so we have built this website.

Plaantik’s website aims to provide opinions, interviews, investigations and reviews on the beautiful game itself and the culture around it from our internal writers team, guest writers and fan contributions.
