Brazil and Argentina drew an international friendly match 0-0 on Tuesday featuring only locally-based players.
The new Argentina coach Alejandro Sabella got a chance to look at some new faces before Argentina kicks off their World Cup qualifying match on October 7 against Chile, and face Venezuela four days later.
Brazil coach Mano Menezes has different concerns as Brazil host the 2014 World Cup and automatically qualify.
Brazil’s front-line combined 31-year-old Ronaldinho with 19-year-old Neymar.
Argentina got a lot of chances to score in the first half, led by Mauro Boselli of Estudiantes who had three chances in the first 16 minutes.
Brazil found it difficult to play against the Argentina side in the first half but matched them in the second.
“We did OK when you consider we have hardly ever played together,” Ronaldinho said.
Ronaldinho came closer to scoring in the 81st that just missed going in by inches.
The two teams (again with a similar squad) will meet again on September 28 in Brazil.
